On Sunday we went up to Ramona to fly with Dan Madsen (the poor guy had violently crashed his first plane into splinters on it's maiden voyage the day before, luckily he wasn't too traumatized ;P, it was fun having him there)

They were giddy like little school girls! throwing around words like "fuselage" (???) and ideas on how to best tune the engine. me? i had fun watching the plane in the sky.
And then it happened...15 minutes into a flight a persistent piece of dust worked its way into the engine and nick had to initiate an emergency landing. How a piece of dust could possibly effect an engine THAT much..i will never know.
TAKE TWO:
Nick and i went flying again yesterday for our little date night

It was the coolest five minutes of my life!
...why only five minutes you ask? Because the wind happened.

If you can't tell in the picture, yes-the plane is broken in half. Nick was bringing it in to re-fuel and the wind caught it on landing which made the wing (not the landing gear) hit the ground first and the tail whip in directions it was DEFINITELY not supposed to whip. (this plane is made out of wood, there should be no whippage going on!)
now nick is masterminding plans to put it back into one solid piece, so stay tuned for take three! i might even get to fly it!! :D
